"She sings the socks off her numbers and creates a vulnerable, yet powerful stage presence, that's sometimes charged with iron strength, making her all the more lovable."

I am very fortunate to be able to teach out of my home studio, where all of my resources are at my fingertips. Over the years, I have worked very hard to get my studio to where I imagined it to be.
I have my performance degree from UWO and studied under the direction of Monica Whicher, Mary McGhee, Maryellen Gustafson and Tom Schilling. Over the years I have sung operatic works, classical works, folk songs and of course, music theatre. I would call myself progressive.
I am hard working when it comes to my craft. I am always performing in shows or concerts or recitals, as they are the best tools to stay progressive and to move your students forward in the musical arts. I believe it is important for my students to see and hear me perform. Young people especially, learn from watching and listening. You can’t do this any better way than show them yourself. I am a performance studio and that’s what we do, we perform.
I am a teacher who teaches both traditional repertoire and technique for examinations, but also one who is very involved in contemporary music, classical, musical theatre and popular music. Having a recording studio in my own home studio has given me the opportunity to work with students using both technology and a vast library of repertoire. I am a teacher who is known for technique and repertoire. I can hear a voice and choose the right repertoire for that particular voice and do many “audition coachings” because of this skill. This has come from years of experience in the industry and teachers along the way who have guided me since I was 9 years old. I have a very big library of music and am constantly updating it, to stay on top of the ever-growing industry. I believe in technique. I have such a vocal range and style myself, that you will hear me perform pop, rock, classical, opera and musical theatre. It’s the same technique, wherever your musical paths want to lead you. I believe in what I teach and I believe that makes me the confident, consistent, reliable, polished and trained singer I am today.
Whether it be studying for RCM Examinations, working in languages, making recordings, making music videos or performing in shows and recitals, you will be guided in a progressive vocal study that will be rewarding and ultimately fun. Because, if it’s not fun, why do it?!
